I'm so happy to announce I have officially moved back to Utah! This is where I grew up. This is what I consider home. My family is here. My heart is here. It feels so wonderful to be back. 2019 has been a stressful year, I won't lie, and it feels so good to be back around familiar faces. And even though Minnesota has been very good to me, I'm relieved to get out of there before yet another horrible winter.
Before leaving, I did have the chance to go up north for the Loon Song Writer's Retreat. It was my first time attending a writer's retreat and it was amazing! I met so many talented writers and had such a great time: bonfires, kayaking, classes, readings, and plenty of wine. Thank you so much to Debby Dahl Edwardson for hosting such an awesome event. I hope to attend next year.
I also had the opportunity to attend Graywolf Press' 45th Anniversary Gala. It was a night to remember with Eula Biss, Claudia Rankine, and Maggie Nelson.
Speaking of retreats/events, I've been thinking I should participate more now that I know how awesome they can be. With that in mind, I've signed up for the Futurescapes Workshop this February down in Provo Utah. I'm so excited and hope to see some familiar faces.
I'll try to do a 2019 summary in a bit after I get all my boxes unpacked! In the meantime, happy writing everyone!
